Personality:
Upon first glance, you'd probably say Lieutenant Kim Kitsuragi is a pretty straight-laced cop. And you'd be right--at least, on a surface level. He's direct, focused, and probably one of the least corrupt police officers in the Revachol Citizens Militia--although, as the RCM is a volunteer-based organization that'll give anyone a gun if they claim to want to protect Revachol, that's probably not much to brag about. His habits are meticulous and ordered--he's constantly taking notes in his notebook, and has a nightly ritual of smoking a single cigarette and going back over the day's notes. And he's a damn good detective--he's excellent at reading other people, and knows how to run a smooth investigation, though he is not as persistent or effective as Harry when it comes to getting information out of people. He's also highly unflappable, as he hardly blinks at Harry Du Bois' odd comments and gently pushes the detective to return focus to the case instead of spending time looking for cryptids or finding lost husbands for strangers

Much of his professional attitude seems to stem from his years in the RCM and his desire to be taken seriously. Kim spent fifteen years as a juvenile police officer, dealing with juvenile delinquents and other related cases. Out of desperation to be promoted and moved out of his desk, he took on a case that involved infiltrating a pinball gambling ring. He spent nine months becoming a pinball champion, despite the fact his coworkers jeered at his efforts and came to call him "Kimball" Kitsuragi. When he finally cracked the case, he was promoted to lieutenant and moved to the homicides division. Kim came to loathe pinball and also developed a form of PTSD relating to juvenile delinquents, making any interactions with them quite difficult. Kim's authoritative attitude is likely an effort to mark himself as a "real" police officer and to separate himself from his history as a juvie cop. As a result, he also is notably reluctant in engaging in seemingly "frivolous" activities, such as dancing or playing board games with Harry. However, with some encouragement, he'll eventually indulge.

However, digging a little deeper reveals a different kind of Kim--one who has a dry sense of humor, who listens to high-tempo SpeedFreaks FM music, who is a total nerd about motor vehicles, and who ultimately cares about the people he's sworn to protect. His comments are often coupled with a sarcastic remark. He also is surprisingly lenient towards certain habits other members of the RCM might find unsavory. For example, he doesn't care if Harry takes drugs or drinks during the investigation--as long as the man is capable of doing his job and isn't likely to die anytime soon, he hardly remarks on it until the end of the game. When it comes to his interests, Kim is usually embarrassed to talk about himself--in fact, he says he'd rather not share personal information with Harry unless given a reason. However, when Harry expresses a similar interest in vehicles, Kim is perfectly willing to also talk shop with him, even taking a moment or two to share a rare grin. Finally, despite the overall ineffectiveness of the RCM in Martinaisse, Kim still believes in his role as a protector of the people and thus cares about--or at least sympathizes with--the citizens of Revachol. Even when dealing with murder suspects, such as Ruby or the Deserter, he is still able to sympathize with their motives and actions, never jumping to conclusions until he has all the facts in hand.

Kim is a moralist, an in-universe term for a centrist, preferring to keep the status quo as opposed to challenging it. Sure, he'd certainly appreciate the RCM being cleaned up and Revachol being changed for the better, but from his perspective, he can't do much as a singular person. His beliefs can be somewhat attributed towards the feeling that he feels he has to uphold a certain image as a member of the RCM. Of course, being a moralist doesn't mean that he'll stand idly by when faced with bigotry or other unsavory views. Being visibly mixed Seolite means that he gets quite a few underhanded racist comments, from being told "Welcome to Revachol" despite being born and raised in the isola to just straight up having slurs spat at him. Most of the time, Kim chews out the person responsible in a surprising outpouring of anger and frustration, as is the case with the Racist Lorry Driver. Additionally, if Harry openly embraces fascist and nationalistic views, Kim will actively berate him for buying into such ideology. In fact, embracing fascism is one of the few ways to cause Kim's relationship with Harry to reach its lowest point.

Overall, Kim is a damn good cop--someone who holds himself to a professional standard and tries to do what the RCM can't. And maybe through his demeanor, he'll be able to inspire other members of the RCM to clean up their act and get back to protecting the people that matter. Hopefully.

Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping: No supernatural abilities or powers--Kim is just a regular ol’ human being. He is very good at being a detective, however, even if his imagination is limited in regards to considering supernatural causes or sexy, dark twists in his cases. His Authority is literally off the charts, able to stop Harry from asking him any secrets by just raising an eyebrow. He also happens to know a lot about motor vehicles (boats, helicopters, motor carriages), knowing their makes and models as well as how to generally repair them, and takes great pride in this knowledge.

What themes of horror/psychological thrillers do you enjoy the most?: Things that build tension/ramp up on paranoia and atmospheric horror. Give me that tasty, tasty atmosphere. Also give me those tasty practical special effects!
Is there anything in particular you absolutely need specific content warnings for?: I would appreciate content warnings for medical malpractice--basically, anything involving bodily mutilation at the hands of doctors. Additionally, I would appreciate warnings for rape.
